Beth King and the Hemingway Collective

Beth King and the Hemingway Collective formed in 2009, and have cut their teeth performing at a number of leading Melbourne venues including the Espy, Rainbow Hotel, Wesley Anne, Empress Hotel, Great Britain, Fox Hotel, Workers Club and a number of community and benefit events.. Described as ‘elastically melodious and sometimes funky alternative folk’, the band features Beth on vocals & guitar, Tin on vocals, guitar, sax & keyboard, Catherine on flute & sax, Steph on double bass and Frank on drums. Pure, expressive vocals, captivating harmonies and unassumingly intricate guitars are melded with funky sax and bass, spontaneous keys, elegant flute and jazz drumming, forming sometimes whimsical, sometimes funky tunes with honest, story-based lyrics.
