Vocal Australia

Vocal music, a cappella, or harmony singing… it’s currently sweeping the globe in popular media, and for good reason!

Singing together creates a fun, expressive, social environment where anyone who can make noise can meet people, learn new skills, and release the week’s stresses together in a non-violent and community-friendly manner.

These days harmony singing is all about fun and excitement, connecting singers of today with music of today – throw away the old church robes and requiem masses! As programs like ‘Glee’, ‘Don’t Stop Believing’, ‘X-Factor’, ‘Battle Of The Choirs’, ‘Australian Idol’ and ‘High School Musical’ saturate the media, involvement in group singing is experiencing a significant rise.

Singing in harmony is no longer a dirty secret!

Vocal Australia is a new company set up by experienced vocal musicians Chris Blain (Suade) and Amelia Alder
(The Australian Voices).

Vocal Australia's key aims are:
- To develop and promote the vocal music scene in Australia;
- To connect groups and singers, fostering collaboration and competition;
- To support new & established vocal groups with musical, planning, business, touring & performing assistance;
- To grow the Australian vocal music scene through programmes in schools, universities & communities; and
- To promote the best of Australian vocal music internationally.
