The Love Slam featuring:
We are boycotting the annual hallmark mainstream-isms and generic ways that love is usually represented in today’s current society. February’s slam is encouraging our poet’s to explore through their writing and performance the idea of “Love in All Forms.”
“I think that our capitalist structure often forms the notion of love as if it is something you acquire. Something you get. Now that I’ve dispelled that old notion of love I think we find our fulfilment where we choose to find our fulfilment. And if you are told that you can only find it here and you don’t look at where it actually is- which is your whole life, you keep thinking it’s coming... “Oh it will be here one day, I’ll get the big love.” Well you have the big love. It’s already here.” –Eve Ensler
